The Hard Drive Recovery Process
Once you have called us and consulted with one of our
data recovery technicians, we request that you ship your device as soon
as possible. Once we receive your hard drive or media, we will log it
into our system and queue it for immediate recovery. We will then call
you with any further issues your hard drive or media may be encountering
that may be different than that of our original phone consultation. Usually
this is not necessary.
Recovering Your Data
Once we are ready to proceed, we will effectively "clone"
your hard drive or media, so that the integrity of your data is never
at risk. We perform all data recovery
procedures on a sector-by-sector basis on a duplicate of your original
drive. We then queue your media or drive for full recovery. If you have
specifically requested expedited service, we will automatically place
it at the front of the recovery production queue.
Data Security
Data security is a key facet of the data
recovery service process. We regard it is one of our most critical
responsibilities. For clients that specifically request it, we can sign
non-disclosure agreements. But, understand that with or without an agreement,
your data is completely secure.
Returning Your Data To You
If we determine that your hard drive is not only repairable,
but will remain in a repaired state, we will return your data on the original,
repaired drive. In cases of media data recovery, we will usually copy
your data to a CD-R, Zip or Jaz cartridge or tape media, depending upon
the original format. If we determine that your original drive cannot be
repaired, we can return your recovered data in a number of ways, including
copying it to a new hard drive, or two almost any portable media you request
(as long as that media is publicly available).
Safeguards
As a courtesy to our customers, we always keep a copy
of your data on hand for 10 business days to ensure you can successfully
reinstall the data. Once you inform us that your data has been successfully
reinstalled, we will purge it from our secure storage facilities.
