IBM ServeRAID Error 2807
One of the more confusing RAID array errors for IBM RAID servers configured with ServeRAID has been IBM RAID error 2807. While there are a few recent postings from IBM suggesting that this error is correctable easily by simply installing a patch, many of our RAID recovery and repair customers have discovered otherwise.

The ServeRAID error 2807 is an internal controller error. This can mean a number of things. Firstly, it is possible that the controller card has malfunctioned, essentially making this a hardware issue. Sometimes this is simply because of a poorly seated RAID card, and on other occasions it may be because of a static or shutdown issue that has fried the card.
On some occasions the IBM RAID error can mean a failed single or multiple hard disk drives within the RAID configuration itself. This may be signified by clicking hard drive sounds. When this is the case, there is little the end user can do.
